Food, Supply, & Fund Drive – Thank You

Saturday, July 11, 2020, the Brothers of Blazing Star Lodge in East Aurora, New York held a food, supply, and fund drive to support local charities. All of the food collected went to FISH of East Aurora, all of the household/personal supplies collected went to The Rural Outreach Center, and all funds collected were split evenly between both. By the generosity of our community and our Brothers, we are happy to provide a large donation of food to FISH of East Aurora. While the donations of supplies for the ROC were not as impressive we are still happy to provide some much-needed items.

Special thanks to the Brothers who helped make this a success, to those who donated food, supplies, and/or money, and a VERY special thanks to our neighbors who made this drive a success. The generosity of our community is impressive. You all should be very proud of your contributions and know that it goes directly to those in need. Also, through the generosity of Pepperidge Farm and Welch’s, Brother of the Bread was able to donate several cases of Welch’s jelly and Pepperidge Farm bread to the drive.

The drive was not only a successful food, supply, and fundraising day, it also proved successful in being a part of the East Aurora community. We are all good neighbors in this unique town we call home.  It is especially satisfying to know how much the community comes together to help in any way possible.  Blazing Star Lodge can trace its history to 1817 when a group of local men wanted to make a positive impact in their community and the world.  The meetings were held in a rented room in an area that was known as the “Kilsey Block”.  The building which now stands on Main Street was built in 1907 and is now designated a historic landmark.  Our roots in East Aurora run deep and we are dedicated to this community.

It was also a success by bringing our Brothers together after a long break due to the COVID-19 outbreak.  We are a tight-knit group that is always eager to meet, talk, joke around, and help each other anytime.  We are made up of men of all professions; farmers, lawyers, educators, mechanics, machinists, engineers, electricians, jewelers, and many more but we are always equal.  Sometimes a Brother drifts away from the Lodge for a variety of reasons but because they join us during these functions they can feel comfortable coming back to Lodge as if they never left.

Brothers are always welcome at Blazing Star Lodge and we are always willing to talk to new men who want to make a positive impact on their lives, families, communities, and the world. When you are ready to change the world, come talk to us or knock on our virtual door and contact us for more information.
