Very Sad News To Report

Worshipful Brother John Murdoch Laid Down His Working Tools

Good morning Brothers,

We are saddened to learn of the passing of our dear Brother John Murdoch.  Worshipful Murdoch was Initiated, Passed, and Raised in Sydenham, Down Lodge #0802 under the Grand Lodge of Ireland in 1970.  He then affiliated with Blazing Star in 1980.  Brother Murdoch was active in the Shrine and could be seen at our Old Timers’ Nights.  He served The Craft faithfully for 51 years.

Our Brother John was always a very festive and happy man.  He enjoyed the company of his family, friends, and Brothers.  Of course, he always had a story to tell to anyone who would listen.  As he would want to be remembered, it brings happiness to look at the photos of Brother Murdoch.  Do not be sad about his passing, remember the joy and happiness he brought to our lives and pass it along.

W:. John Murdoch was called home to the Celestial Lodge above by the Great Architect Of The Universe Sunday, June 4, 2022.  Brother Murdoch will be missed.

Brother Murdoch’s family requested a Masonic service.  All are welcome to attend.  Saturday, June 18th at 10:00 am.

Old Timers’ Night 2022

This is it!  The newest Worshipful Master requests your presence at Blazing Star Lodge #694 for the annual Old Timers’ Night and Recognitions, Tuesday, June 14, 2022.  I hear Limberger Cheese is making a comeback, you will not want to miss that!  We are looking for volunteers to cut the cheese.  We have a lot to address in this communication and are eager to get to the festivities of the evening.  Several Brothers are being honored with some significant milestones.  While some will not be with us in person, we will honor them for their years of dedication to The Craft.  Our DDGM RW Coleman will be present to make the presentation for our long-standing Brothers.  We will do our best to properly honor our Brothers who have dedicated many years to Masonry then get straight to Fellowship and the Limberger Cheese.  This is a relaxed and casual evening.  Our new line Officers are taking their stations for the first time so please go easy on them when they miss a line.  If you want to join the fun please RSVP or just show up!

The door officially opens at 6:00 pm.  We will have plenty of food to go around but please send an email if you plan on coming so we have a general idea of a head count.  Lodge opens promptly at 7:30 pm.  The dress code is casual with jeans or shorts acceptable.  We will enjoy food and much Fellowship after Lodge closes.  All Entered Apprentices, Fellowcraft, and Master Masons are welcome!

Be There And Be Square!

Investature of The Worshipful Master

Our newest Worshipful Master, Todd Paterek, was invested (twice) with the proper instructions of the Worshipful Master’s Chair. The first time was simple and humble as is the tradition and history of Blazing Star Lodge. The second was far grander with the company of Masons from the Erie District. Even Most Worshipful Williamson attended and gave a fantastic motivational speech to the incoming Worshipful Masters. Some were taking the Chair for the first time while others were taking the chair again (and again).

The Officers of Blazing Star Lodge with the Erie District DDGM and AGL. Congratulations Brothers, thank you for serving your Lodge and The Craft

Erie District Worshipful Master Investiture ceremony. Outgoing and incoming Worshipful Masters from each Lodge in the Erie District. Congratulations W:. Brothers.
