2020-2021 Blazing Star Lodge #694 Officer Line

Tuesday, August 25, 2020 – The Brothers of Blazing Star Lodge #694 F&AM held a special meeting to nominate, elect, and install the officers for the 2020 – 2021 Masonic year. You will notice that all are wearing simple white aprons. Due to Covid-19, we are refraining from using “shared” aprons. However, this is in fact the true fashion of a Master Mason. One is not “higher” or “lower” in importance. Nobody is more important than the next. We have our stations and places in the Lodge and these offices are to ensure the Lodge works and progresses with purpose, honor, and love. Fellowship was abundant after the meeting. A genuine feeling of Brotherhood prevailed in the parking lot with none eager to leave.

W:. Glenn S. Capron is taking the Master’s chair one more year. He begged us not to elect him again so we did the Brotherly thing and elected him. You can read W:. Caprons bio and see his line of officers in the Master’s Corner of the website. W:. Capron has promised a full Trestle Board of Masonic education, as much Fellowship as possible with current Covid-19 guidelines, and a year devoted to the members of Blazing Star Lodge and Freemasonry.

We have some candidates waiting to take their first (and second) step into Freemasonry and we will initiate (and pass) them as soon as we receive guidelines from The Grand Lodge of New York. We cannot wait to welcome our new Brothers but we want to be as safe as possible. If you are interested in becoming a Freemason please do not hesitate to “knock on our door” to learn more.

There’s mony a badge that’s unco braw,
Wi’ ribbon, lace and tape on,
Let Kings and Princes wear them a’,
Gie Me the Master’s apron!
The honest Craftsmas’s apron,
The jolly Freemason’s apron,
Bide he at home, or road afar,
Before his touch fa’s bolt an’ bar,
The gates of fortune fly ajar,
‘Gin he wears the apron!
For wealth an’ honor, pride an’ power
Are crumbling stone to base on;
Fraternity should rule the hour
And ilka worthy Mason!
Each Free Accepted Mason,
Each Ancient Crafted Mason.
Then brithers let a halesome song
Arise your friendly ranks along,
Gudewives and bairns blithely sing
Ti’ the ancient badge wi’ the apron string
That is warn by the Master Mason.

East Aurora Music Festival Recap

The end of the Masonic year usually means slowing things down, however, not this year for the Brothers of Blazing Star Lodge #694 F&AM in East Aurora, New York. We are ending the year with three exciting events. First was the East Aurora Music Festival. A full day of music, Fellowship, hard work, excitement, and lots of fun. The day was a huge success, we were even able to attract a few potential members, we shall see. Our next event is the Charter rededication ceremony this Saturday at the Lodge. The public is welcome to attend and we are making preparations to broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook Live! Details will follow soon. Following the 150th rededication, we have our final meeting of the year, our Olde Timers’ Night. This is the meeting we honor those who have been with the Fraternity for many years. It is always a good night and lots of good fun.
For those who were wondering about who tipped better at the East Aurora Music Fest, men or women, it was the men by a factor of two! Thank you to everyone who came out and helped us enjoy the day with our community.

Here are a couple video posted to our brand new Blazing Star Lodge 694 YouTube channel.

A few photos taken during the day.

Lodge Night – Annual Steak Bake

Do not miss our annual Steak Bake on Tuesday, April 23rd at 6:30 pm. A generous piece of juicy steak, cooked to perfection over hot coals. Served with delicious sides to complement. This meeting is highly recommended by our Worshipful Master for the meal alone, but he reminds us that the Fellowship and Brotherhood make it complete. Any Erie District or traveling Brother is welcome to join us for dinner and meeting immediately following. We do ask for ample notice and a small donation to the Fellowcraft Fund. Click here to RSVP

Masonry became our way of life when we took the obligation. The Lodge is the responsibility for all of us. It is unreasonable to let a few carry the burden for everyone.

We are balloting on the newest petitioner, we will need to get the annual reports read in and accepted, along with some old business and whatever new business that may come along. I wanted to try to bring back the trash to treasure auction but with all the work we need to accomplish it will have to wait until next year.

We have some very busy times coming up in the near future. The month of May will see elections of officers, and their installation. Saturday, June 8th we have our fundraising effort participating in the East Aurora Music Fest. Tuesday, June 11th is our old timers night which will again be held at the East Aurora Firemen’s Field. To wrap up this session, on Saturday, June 15th we are hosting the Grand Master et al. for our 150th charter re-dedication. This is a good time to display and show our Masonic pride to the public, our district, and traveling Brothers.

It has been a very busy year culminating into a hectic end, but has been, is, and continues to be a very rewarding experience. Come on out and share the experience.

The dress for the evening is business casual, you can bring your own bibs but please do not use your Aprons during dinner!

Fraternally and respectfully,

W:. Capron
